Rally held in Frankfort ahead of global climate talks in Paris
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Christmas carols were heard in one part of Frankfort this afternoon, but it wasn’t only for the holidays.
Folks dressed in holiday colors and held wrapped presents naming some of the “gifts” like 100% renewables by 2050, ‘A Better Future for our Kids’, clean water, air and ‘Climate Justice.’ It happened in front of the Walmart on Leonardwood Drive.
The group simply referred to themselves as ‘Kentuckians concerned about the threat of climate change who want to raise their voices in hope for a better future.’ They say the Paris Climate Talks which begin this week offer the world a real opportunity to address climate change.
