Rain creates safety issues for boaters
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)-Boaters out for the annual river run in Frankfort Saturday got a scare from the weather.
It was a beautiful day until a pop-up shower brought about 3 inches of rain.
Missy Gaines says everyone was meeting up at the end at Mulholland Beach on Ninevah Road for Land Lubbers.
The heavy rain caused flash flooding and brought so much debris, it was difficult getting through the river back to the boat ramp.
Gaines says the driver and other boats nearby were great and helped clear a way to get them back safely.
