Railbird Festival is making security a priority
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The recent mass shootings across the country have people worried for their safety.
One recent shooting took place at a food festival in California.
The first Railbird music festival is coming to Lexington this weekend at Keeneland and thousands of tickets have been sold.
The festival’s Vice President, Jeff Cuellar says safety starts at the gate.
Guests will go through a security checkpoint with metal detectors and a pat down.
You’re allowed to bring in sunscreen, blankets, and cameras.
Each person can bring one empty water bottle and one sealed bottle of water.
You can bring a bag but there is a size limit and it can only have two pockets.
There’s a custom safety plan created with Lexington police and Keeneland security.
“We’re prepared to assure the safety of our fans, employees, artists, and everyone who comes to participate,” said Jeff Cuellar, VP of Strategic Partnerships for AC Entertainment.
When it comes to your health, Cuellar says there will be cooling stations and free water.
Tickets are still available and can be bought online or at the gate.
