Quaker State 400 returns to Kentucky Speedway
SPARTA, Ky. – The Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts will return to the Bluegrass State for the sixth time Saturday night July 9, 2016 to anchor another NASCAR tripleheader weekend. The weekend opens with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Thursday, July 7, followed by the NASCAR XFINITY Series on Friday, July 8. The XFINITY Series also returns to the 1.5-mile tri-oval Saturday, September 24. All races are at night.
“We are thrilled to maintain our summer race weekend at the end of the holiday week,” said Kentucky Speedway general manager Mark Simendinger. “We had an overwhelmingly positive response to this weekend in 2015 and our primary goal was to retain this date.”
NASCAR released the entire 2016 schedule for the Sprint Cup and XFINITY Series and for the first time in its history executed five-year sanction agreements for each race. The five-year agreements are one component of a wide-ranging initiative to ensure the NASCAR industry delivers the best, most competitive racing while strengthening the overall health of the industry.
