Pulaski County man charged after wife seriously burned in alleged domestic violence incident

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Pulaski County man is facing a first-degree assault charge after deputies say a domestic violence incident left a woman with serious burn injuries earlier this month.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Timothy Lewis of Eubank is charged with first-degree assault involving domestic violence following an incident reported February 5 at the couple’s home.

Investigators say an argument between the couple escalated when Lewis allegedly attempted to ignite a vape device using a lighter. During the altercation, deputies say the woman’s hair caught fire.

Authorities say the victim suffered burns to her face, neck, and head and lost a significant amount of hair as a result of the incident.

The sheriff’s office says Lewis was arrested February 23 and later released the same day on a $25,000 bond.

Deputies say the investigation remains ongoing.
