Public meetings invite community to “Dream a perfect library”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Public Library will hold a series of community meetings in January in order to receive input into the library’s new strategic plan.

Ann Hammond, the Library’s executive director, will be on hand to lead discussions at each of the system’s six locations. The schedule is:

Central Library: 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, and 3 p.m. Saturday, January 30.

Beaumont Branch: 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, and 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 26.

Eagle Creek Branch: 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, and noon Wednesday, January 13.

Northside Branch: 7 p.m. Monday, January 11, and 2 p.m. Sunday, January 17.

Tates Creek Branch: 3 p.m. Sunday, January 10, and 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 19.

Village Branch: 6 p.m. Thursday, January 14.

The library’s current five-year strategic plan comes to an end this summer. It has resulted in a number of new programs, including online magazine checkout, the lexpublib2go mobile app, the Storytime-to-go traveling RV, Book-A-Librarian, and Your Next Chapter, as well as facility renovations and improvements culminating with the opening of the new Eastside Branch this March.
