Public meeting proposed zoning change for new student housing

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Urban County Council is holding a public meeting Wednesday to discuss a proposed zone change that would allow for a new apartment complex on Maxwell Street.

The proposal calls for a 322-unit development at the corner of Maxwell and Rose streets, targeting University of Kentucky students. If approved, it would become the third high-density complex approved along East Maxwell within the past year.

Wednesday’s meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Government Center on Main Street in downtown Lexington.
