Public meeting planned on Lake Malone proposal

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – Officials plan to gather public comments on a proposal to build and operate a commercial boat dock on Lake Malone in western Kentucky and expand no-wake zones in some areas.

The Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources says a public meeting will be held on Sept. 22 at Muhlenberg County South Elementary School in Beechmont. Wildlife officials will explain details of both requests, then answer questions and take comments from the public. In addition, written comments will be accepted Sept. 22 to Oct. 22.

A committee will discuss the proposals and public comments on Nov. 4. If approved, the measure would then be up for discussion by the full Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commission on Dec. 2.
