Public gets sneak peek inside St. Jude Dream Home
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The public got its first chance Thursday to see inside the St. Jude Dream Home that’s been under construction on Polo Club Boulevard in Lexington.
The official ribbon cutting was held on the dream home’s front porch by Erin Brester, from builder DB Homes and Haley Mefford, from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The home is located in the HomePlace of Lexington subdivision.
The St. Jude Dream Home is approximately 3,200 square feet. It has four bedrooms, two and a half baths with a two-car attached garage.
It has a large gourmet kitchen with a center island that opens up to a large family room with fireplace and tripe tier ceiling.
The downstairs master bedroom opens up to a covered porch. It is an open concept floor plan. There are even secret rooms in the home.
It’s in a great location on a corner lot, so there’s plenty of land and it’s next to a walking trail with an appropriate buffer for privacy.
The home was built by Drew and Erin Brester of DB Homes. All of the materials and labor are donated. The Brester’s have built every St. Jude Dream Home since the program began in Lexington four years ago.
The couple didn’t have any connection to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital prior to getting involved in the program. We asked why they originally got involved?
“We could never give back what we’ll be able to with this project any other way doing what we do every single day, so we’re just very honored that we’re able to be a part of it and to help so many families and children and affect their lives in such a positive way through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said Erin Brester.
