Psych evaluation ordered for Robertson County woman accused of dismembering, cooking mother
MOUNT OLIVET, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Robertson County woman accused of killing and dismembering her mother appeared in court Monday for a pre-trial conference.
According to the Robertson County Circuit Court, 32-year-old Torilena Fields was granted a motion for a competency evaluation. A judge scheduled the evaluation to be conducted by a psychiatrist on July 14.
Fields was arrested in October 2024 after investigators discovered her mother’s dismembered body outside their home on Brierly Ridge Road in Mount Olivet. Investigators said at the time they found body parts in cookware on the stove of the house. She faces charges of murder, abuse of a corpse, and animal torture.
Fields pleaded not guilty during a Zoom court appearance last November and remains in custody at the Bourbon County Detention Center.
