Prosecutors to seek death sentence in slaying case
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) — Prosecutors plan to seek a death sentence if they convict a man of a kidnapping and slaying that ended with a body being found in a car.
The News Enterprise reported (http://bit.ly/1wtsq61 ) that the Hardin County Commonwealth’s Attorney filed a notice in the case of 24-year-old Octavio Correa to make it a capital case.
Correa and 31-year-old Tiffany Hodges are charged with murder in the July death 47-year-old Saul Alvarado Flores of Munfordville.
Police say Correa kidnapped the person from a home in Munfordville and drove to Glendale in the victim’s car in July. Police say Hodges said she helped Correa bind the victim and wrap him in a blanket and also told police she saw Correa shoot the victim in the head.
Correa and Hodges are being held at the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of a $1 million cash bond.
