Prosecutors: Farmer’s Wrongdoing Started Pre-2008

Federal Prosecutors allege former Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer misused public resources before 2008.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth Taylor says the government plans to show evidence that farmer misused public resources beyond what he’s facing in court. Due to a five year statute of limitations Farmer can’t be charged with anything that allegedly happened before 2008.

Farmer’s trial is set for October 22nd.
