Property Taxes On The Rise

Lexington residents could soon be paying higher property taxes.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper, the Fayette County Board of Education members unanimously voted for the increase Monday.

The taxes will raise 2.2 cents for each $100 in property value, according to the newspaper.

That means the owner of a $100,000 house in Lexington will pay an additional $22 in property tax a year.
