“Prolific” burglary suspect arrested in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Chainsaws and lawnmowers are just a few of the items Lexington Police say one suspect made off with from local businesses.

The Lexington Police Department says the suspect, 49-year-old Terry Wayne Rogers, is now in custody.

Investigators call Rogers “a prolific property crimes suspect.”

They say he is responsible for numerous thefts from Lexington businesses.

Rogers is accused of stealing a variety of tools, including numerous chainsaws, an air compressor, a log splitter, a trailer pressure washer, and two John Deere lawnmowers.

Police say officers had been searching for Rogers for several weeks prior to his arrest.

On August 24, he was spotted driving recklessly and fled from officers, according to police.

They say he was finally arrested September 1 after being spotted breaking into an auto repair business.
