Principal named for new Scott County high school

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ)- Joy Kinney Lusby has been named principal of Scott County’s new high school.

Lusby is currently an assistant principal at Scott County High School serving in this role since 2016. She will lead Great Crossing High School next  school year.

Before coming to Scott County, Lusby was both an associate and assistant principal at Oldham County High School and served as a special education teacher at North Oldham Middle School, Buckner Alternative High School, Northeast Middle School, and Jeffersontown High School.

Dr. Kevin Hub, Superintendent of Scott County Schools says “She brings a wealth of skills and experience to the role of principal.  We are excited about the potential for student success at Great Crossing High School under her leadership.”

Lusby says she is confident in her ability to develop a positive school culture and climate at GCHS through transparency, effective communication, and relationship building.

Lusby also says she values the perspective of students and will seek student input often as an important measure of success.

Lusby will officially begin her tenure as principal at Great Crossing High School this summer in preparation for the opening of the school in August 2019.
