Preventive maintenance continues for Fayette County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says that the preventive maintenance project remains in progress for Fayette County. The Microsurfacing treatment slows the deterioration of pavement, reduces upkeep and the costs of construction.  In addition, it provides motorists with increased safety.

The preventive maintenance will start Wednesday, August 29 and end Friday, August 31. This will start 7:30 a.m. each morning until 5 p.m. each day.

The road work will take place on Ironworks Pike between Newtown Pike and Georgetown Road. Flaggers will be on site to assist for the two-lane section.

KYTC says the turn lanes will be closed. The speed limit through the work zone is 25mph.

All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
