Presidential debate ‘watch party’ in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – All eyes in a packed Lynagh’s restaurant and bar near the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington Tuesday night were glued to the TV screens. The customers weren’t watching the baseball playoffs or other sporting event, they were all registered voters closely following the first Democratic presidential debate at what was billed as a debate ‘watch party.’

Even though some people wore t-shirts, hats and buttons supporting their favorite candidate, many of the debate watchers called themselves an “undecided voter.” Some of the people ABC 36 News spoke to who hadn’t chosen a candidate yet, said they just wanted an even playing field during the debate and hoped that the moderators would be fair and in control.
