President Trump responds to McConnell’s “excessive expectations” comment
FLORENCE, Ky.(WTVQ) – President Trump is using twitter to take a jab at the senate majority leader
Earlier in the week — Mitch McConnell spoke to a rotary club in Florence. He said the president did not understand about how quickly congress could act on uprooting the Obama Health Care Law.
“Our new president has not been in this line of work before and I think had excessive expectations about how quickly things happen in the democratic process,” said McConnell. “Some people may think we are under-performing and may have set some artificial deadlines, while the realities of legislation might not be fully understood.”
Trump tweeted Wednesday, “Senator Mitch McConnell said i had ‘excessive expectations’, but I don’t think so. After seven years of hearing repeal and replace, why not done?”
Fox News host Sean Hannity who is a close trump ally also responded to McConnell’s speech by tweeting McConnell is quote: “a weak, spineless leader” who is dishonest and should retire.
Mitch McConnell has not responded.
