President Trump approves disaster aid for Kentucky flood and tornado recovery
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 News Now) — President Donald Trump has approved public assistance for Kentucky counties impacted by the April flooding and May tornadoes, according to Governor Andy Beshear.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, Beshear said the president called him directly to deliver the news. Beshear called the federal support “essential” to help communities rebuild after the devastating spring weather events.
Beshear also said he took the opportunity to praise the FEMA teams already on the ground in Kentucky, telling the president they are “doing great work.”
ABC36 News Now will continue to follow recovery efforts and provide updates as more resources are deployed.
