President of Centre College stepping down

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The president of Centre College announced Friday he plans to retire.

John A. Roush, who has served as the college’s president for 22 years, says his last day will be June 30, 2020.

Under his tenure, the college says it’s seen a 40 percent growth in the size of the student body, capital projects in the hundreds of millions of dollars, the creation of three premier scholarship programs and an increase in its public profile.

The search for Roush’s successor will begin late summer in partnership with a national search firm, according to the college.
