Preps For UK Final Four Game

State Street is all quiet now but Lexington Police have been checking and removing anything that could be set on fire tomorrow after the game.

It’s the same thing they did a week ago before about eight thousand people filled the area around State Street.

Despite all the people, police say crowds have been relatively calm and for the most part everyone celebrated safely and responsibly.

That’s what police hope continues this weekend.

Police say they have learned a lot after 2012 and have a similar post game plan they used after the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight wins last weekend.

Still, they say they hope the community will celebrate like eight time National Champions.

Police Chief Ronnie Bastin says, "We want to win and want people to enjoy that and celebrate that but we’re going to be there and were going to take the precautions that we think are reasonable and responsible to try and create an environment where people can celebrate and not worry about their safety or property being damaged especially property in those neighborhoods where the celebrations occur."

Lexington Police say they plan to be on State Street starting tomorrow morning.
