Woman faces preliminary hearing in case linked to infant's death
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW)— A woman charged in connection with her baby’s death is due in court Monday morning for a preliminary hearing, which was rescheduled earlier this month. Kaela Walker, along with Amancio Torres-Trevino, faces charges of child abuse related to the death of their three-month-old son, Greyson Torres.
Police report that the baby died earlier this month after being taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The coroner’s office and police are investigating the death as a homicide.
According to court records, Torres-Trevino has waived his right to a preliminary hearing and will face a grand jury. Meanwhile, Walker’s rescheduled hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. Monday.
