Power Outage Leaves Blue Grass Airport In The Dark

A power outage Wednesday afternoon affected thousands in the Versailles Road area in Lexington.

It also left Blue Grass Airport in the dark.

The power went out a little after 3:00.

It was restored just after 4:00.

Kentucky Utilities said the cause of the power outage was a ground wire snagged into the main line.

The timing was a challenge for families trying to travel for Christmas.

According to the airport, the generator had been working for a little while and had
then stopped.

Officials weren’t sure why it shut off.

The airport said the outage led to some delays.

Kentucky Utilities said all power had been restored.
