Powell Co. High School to hold parade in memory of student

STANTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – There will be a parade from Powell Co. High School this Saturday to honor a student who tragically died.

Jaren Reed died on November 6.  The parade will help raise funds for the Reed family.

Anyone is welcome to join the parade, but organizers are asking for a $10 dollar donation.  All money raised will be donated to the family to offset expenses.  Organizers say participants should be at the high school by 9:15 to be registered.  Participants can bring their own vehicles, but must be licensed to operate whatever mode of transportation they bring, and must wear a helmet.

After the parade, organizers say food and refreshments will be available for a small fee, with the proceeds, again, going to the Reed family.

The parade will start at the high school on 700 W. College Avenue at 10:00 a.m.  It will continue down W. College to the center red light in town.  There, it will make a left onto Main Street, then a left on Maple Street. The parade will continue with a right onto Railroad, then a left onto Halls Lane and end back at Powell County High School.
