UPDATE: Possible bomb threat prompts Lafayette High School evacuation
UPDATE: FCPS now says SCAPA staff and students were also evacuated to the football field.
According to a more recent release, parents who are going to campus are asked to park in the staging area of Southport Drive and remain in their vehicles.
FCPS says it has requested the Hazardous Device Team provide bomb-sniffing dogs. Also, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies are helping with the investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY:
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Fayette County Schools says Lafayette High School students and staff are safe, after evacuating to the football field, after an anonymous bomb threat call to Lexington Police about noon today (4/15).
FCPS says the evacuation to the field follows FCPS safety procedures.
A release states everyone is safe and that parents or guardians should not go to the school at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
