Pop-up blood drive scheduled for Saturday in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Blood Center is looking for donors to give the holiday blood supply a boost so it’s hosting a pop-up blood drive this weekend.

The blood center says donations usually drop during the holidays and blood transfusions have been outpacing donations.

The pop-up blood drive is being held at Malibu Jack’s Nicholasville Road location this Saturday, December 28 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Those who donate will get a $25 Play Card to the indoor theme park.

Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Donors must also show a photo I.D. with first and last name, like a state-issued driver’s license. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org.
