Police: Woman assaulted in her home

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) – A request to borrow a cell phone turned into an assault on Race street, says Lexington Police.

At approximately 8 a.m. on Tuesday, police report that a man had walked up to a woman, asking to place a call on her cell phone, since his was dead. They say the man then forced his way into her house, and delivered a blow with an unknown object to her head before fleeing the scene.

Her husband claims the man stole her wallet before leaving, though police say it is not clear if the man took anything.

Police are currently looking for the suspect.

Her husband says she has been taken to the hospital, but will be okay.
