Police: undercover operation results in arrest of man posing as child online

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Hart County man was arrested Monday after he allegedly posed as a child online and tried to meet up with a child in Danville to bring that child back to his home.

According to the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, Paul Norton was arrested as part of an undercover online operation targeted at people exploiting children for sexual performances.

Posing as a child, a deputy with the sheriff’s office was allegedly contacted by Norton on social media and was requested for “sexual performances.”

Norton also requested to come to Danville to pick the child up and take the child back to his home, deputies said.

On Monday, Norton was arrested at his home in Horse Cave.

He’s charged with promoting/procuring a minor for sexual performances by electronic means.

Deputies said the investigation is pending more charges.
