Police: Two burglars caught in the act in Richmond

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — Richmond police say they caught two burglars as they were trying to get away with things they had just stolen.

Investigators say they caught Jonathan Witt and Veronica Witt going out the side door of a house Monday on Walnut Street. Police say the two saw the officers, then went back into the home. Investigators say Jonathan Witt then tried to get out of a bedroom window. According to investigators, he was trying to steal a watch, a pocket knife and three cans of smokeless tobacco. 

Police say the suspects are being charged with second degree Burglary. Police say Jonathan Witt also has a ‘Failure to Appear’ charge from Madison District Court.
