Police tracking possible suspects after shots fired in neighborhood

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – After weeks of responding to shots fired in a Lexington neighborhood, police may have a lead on who is doing it.

Police say they have received calls about shots fired in the Hollow Creek area at least three times in the past few weeks.

Every time they responded, they say they found shell casings.

Police say they have stepped up patrols around the neighborhood, hoping to catch those responsible.

While on patrol Sunday night, officers spotted people sitting in a car.

Everyone in the car got out and ran when officers approached.

Police were not able to catch them but say they now have their vehicle, and possibly evidence, that could tie them to the shooters.
