Police: Teen Died After Driving Wrong Way on I-64
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office says a teenager is dead after driving the wrong way on Interstate 64.
Deputies say it happened around 3am Sunday morning.
They say they were hearing from several people that a mini-van was heading east in the westbound lane.
Before they could get there, they say the minivan collided with a semi-truck.
The semi-truck had swerved to avoid the oncoming traffic and was hit on the passenger’s front wheel.
The sheriff’s office says the driver of the mini-van was 19-year-old Zachary Riley, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi-truck driver, a 51 year-old from North Carolina was not injured.
