Police: Suspect robs business, kidnaps driver to get away

(LEXINGTON, Ky.) – Lexington Police say Harvey Reeves is arrested on charges of robbery, kidnapping, sexual abuse and criminal trespassing.

Police say Reeves admitted to robbing a business Thursday morning. According to authorities, he approached a woman in her car at Saint Joe East Hospital shortly after the robbery to get away from police. Police say Reeves pretended to have a weapon and told the victim he ‘needed her car’.

Investigators say while riding in the car with the victim, Reeves threatened her life, exposed himself to her and touched her inappropriately.

Police say at one point the victim stopped the car and turned off the ignition. Reeves then moved into the driver seat and attempted to restart the car, but could not. The victim told police at that moment she tried to run away, but Reeves grabbed her and pulled her back into the car. She eventually fought off Reeves and ran away to safety.

Police say Reeves was later arrested in the 300 block of Bainbridge Drive around 8 a.m. Thursday.

Reeves , 45, is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
