UPDATE: Standoff situation ends in Lexington

Lexington Police say a standoff situation has ended peacefully.

The man was arrested and charged with assault and terroristic threatening.

The children were not harmed, according to police. They are back with their mother.

People living in area have been told they can come out of their homes and the entrance to the mobile home park is no longer blocked.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police are at the scene of a standoff situation at a mobile home park in Lexington.

According to Lexington Police, it started around 7:30 a.m. Monday when a man and woman began fighting in a car with two young children inside. Police say the woman was injured.

Police say the four then went to the Maple Grove Mobile Home Park on Georgetown Road and the woman ran from the car.

Police believe the man has barricaded himself inside a trailer with the two children but have not been able to make contact with him.

Everyone living in the immediate area has been told to stay inside their homes and no one is being allowed to enter the mobile home park as officers try to negotiate with the man.
