Police standoff in Mount Sterling ends peacefully
MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (WTVQ) – A nearly two-hour standoff Tuesday night in Mount Sterling ended peacefully, according to police.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says it had warrants out from two counties on 29-year old Richard Adam Hughes.
Investigators say he barricaded himself inside a home on Lorene Circle.
After lengthy negotiations, he gave himself up without incident, according to police.
They say he was not armed.
He was taken to an area hospital because of cuts on his wrists, according to investigators.
