Police: Robber Who Wore Clown Mask Arrested

Police in Georgetown said a man in a clown mask robbed a Shell station Tuesday night on Showalter Drive.

And investigators said they had since arrested the suspect.

According to officers, the man had pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded money.

Police said they later pulled an SUV over and found the robber.

Shawntauis Williams was arrested.

Police were working to see if the robbery was connected to a Lexington robbery.

Investigators said that someone wearing a clown mask had robbed a Cricket Wireless store last Friday at Versailles and Alexandria Drive.

Police said that later that night, someone had held up the Microtel Inn and Suites on Buena Vista Road in Lexington.
