Police: Monticello man found under the influence while staggering on road, carrying guns

MONTICELLO, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Monticello man was arrested Thursday afternoon after he was allegedly found under the influence, staggering on the road and carrying multiple guns.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Foster Mountain Road around 4 p.m. for a report of a man staggering in the street while carrying guns.

Upon arrival, deputies say they asked the man, later identified as Glen Crabtree, to lay the guns down and then lay himself down on the road. He complied.

Deputies allegedly found multiple types of ammunition and small, plastic whiskey bottles on him.

Later, they allegedly found a gun hidden under a pile of leaves nearby.

A search of the man’s vehicle allegedly turned up another gun.

Crabtree was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and disorderly conduct.
