Police: Man used Facebook to solicit 12-year-old for sex

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officers in Frankfort say a man used Facebook to solicit a 12-year-old girl for sex, inviting her over to his home and offering her beer.

Police say they received a complaint from the girl’s parents around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24.  According to officers, the parent’s let the officer’s go through their daughter’s phone to read messages the man had sent.  Officers say they were even able to communicate with the man, identified as 21-year-old David Barcey through the girl’s phone.

Officers say they were able to set up a meeting with the Barcey, posing as the girl.  According to police, Barcey arranged to meet the girl at a park near his home and described what he would be wearing.  Investigators say they went to the park at the pre-arranged time, and found Barcey dressed as described walking near the entrance.  Police say he was arrested without incident.
