Police: Man took swing at officer
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a man took a swing at an officer during a routine traffic stop in Lexington.
Court documents say police tried to stop the car 33-year-old Danny Hunt was driving on Thursday morning.
This was after an officer says he saw the car traveling at a high rate of speed on North Limestone.
Documents say Hunt then collided with another car, got out and ran to another vehicle and tried to get in.
When he couldn’t, police say he ran but the officer caught up to him.
When he ordered Hunt to the ground, police say Hunt turned around tried to hit the officer.
Police say the officer used a taser gun on Hunt and arrested him.
He is in jail on several charges, including assault on an officer.
