Police: Man Found In Deplorable Conditions

Lexington police said they found a man with mental and physical disabilities on the floor of a home, unable to get up on Tuesday.

Julia Polsgrove, 73, was the man’s caretaker for the last 23 years. She was charged with knowingly neglecting an adult.

Court documents say Polsgrove refused adult protection assistance multiple times.

Lexington police entered Polsgrove’s residence on Kilkenny Court with a warrant, say court documents, and found the victim on the floor "in filth, feces, and urine."

Those documents say the man is in a wheelchair.

They say detectives found "significant amounts of human and animal feces through the residence," and that trash was found piled up in multiple areas.

According to court documents, at least one dog and six cats were found in the home.

The home now bears a sign calling it unfit for human habitation.

Polsgrove is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
