Police: Man Caught With Stolen Art Gallery Statues
Police said a Lexington man was caught Monday with a pair of stolen statues.
The two bronze statues are worth $50,000, according to police, who said they received a tip to go to Price Road.
When they got there, they said they found John Scott Benton trying to leave through a window with one of the statues.
Police arrested Benton and recovered both statues, which they say were stolen from the Heike-Pickett Art Gallery in Versailles.
Benton is accused of receiving stolen property.
