Police: Man Breaks into Store, Falls Asleep at Neighboring McDonald’s
Richmond Police said a man broke into a local market and was then spotted across the street, sleeping outside of a McDonald’s.
They tell us a report was called in on August 14 about a burglary that had happened at Kelly’s Fruit Market on the Eastern Bypass.
According to officers, several bags containing groceries were found outside, along with a drill that had been taken from the store.
Samuel Meeks, 31, was reportedly found a short time later sleeping outside of a neighboring McDonald’s. Police said they found a printer cartridge on him that belonged to Kelly’s, as well as a Xanax pill.
He was charged with burglary and possession of a controlled substance and then lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
