Police: Man attacks minor with baseball bat

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police arrested a Lexington man Tuesday after he allegedly attacked a juvenile with a baseball bat.

Lexington police took 33-year-old Joey Owens into custody at his home on Eureka Springs Drive after they were called about the attack which happened around 5:30 pm.

Police say Owens was involved in a physical fight with a male juvenile and used a baseball bat to hit the victim in the head and shoulder, causing head injury, scratches and bruising.

Owens has been charged with second degree assault.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
