Police: Man Assaulted, Child Kidnapped In Drug Deal

Officers said after responding to a call on the 5600 block of Winchester Road they talked with a man who said he had been assaulted and his young boy kidnapped.

Shortly after that the boy was found according to police. That’s when investigators pieced together what happened. They said the man, William Hanks, had gone to a drug deal. In the process, they said he met three people, two women and one man.

Officers said the three took Hanks and the boy to a field and beat up Hanks and robbed him. They then said the three took the boy to another neighborhood, gave him the man’s license and told him to knock on doors and someone would help him.

Hanks was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment. Officers said they’re still looking for the other three people.
