Police: Man arrested for drugs after threatening police
GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Police say a man has been arrested for drugs and other charges after threatening to kill police officers during a traffic stop.
Police stopped Ottis Amburgey for not having his headlights on. Officer Allen Weston says Amburgey got out of his car yelling that he wanted a “suicide by cop.” Officers say Amburgey was also yelling “I’m going to kill you.”
Officers tased and hit Amburgey with a baton, after he tried to attack them. They say after 10 minutes of fighting, officers were able to put him in handcuffs.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle and found meth and syringes. Amburgey is in jail and facing multiple charges.
