Police make arrest in Jimmy John’s robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man who quit his job at a Jimmy John’s is accused of turning around and robbing the business.

According to Lexington police, officers were called to the Jimmy John’s on Waller Avenue on June 1 for an armed robbery.

An employee told police that while taking out the trash, he was approached by a man with his face covered, who was armed with a handgun, and demanded money from the store safe.

Police arrested 21-year-old Markice Armstrong Wednesday and charged him with robbery.

Police say Armstrong was an employee at the Jimmy John’s and quit just before the robbery.

They say he admitted to police he committed the robbery.
