Police Looking for Suspect in Friday Morning Lexington Shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Lexington are investigating a shooting in Lexington that happened early Friday morning.

Officers say they received a report of an assault with a weapon at an apartment complex on Kees Road at about 5:50 a.m.

When they arrived, police say they found a large amount of blood in the hallway and a bullet hole in a door, but couldn’t find a victim.

Officers knocked on doors to make sure everyone was alright, and say one person told them he had seen a man lying in the hallway and called police.

Investigators say they followed a trail of blood out to the back of the apartments, that eventually led to a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the face in bake of the Save-A-Lot on North Broadway near the Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

Police say the man was taken to the hospital where he is in serious, but stable, condition.  Officers say his injuries are not life-threatening.

According to police, the man was very drunk, and wasn’t offering much information other than his name, Houston Adams.

Officers are still looking for a suspect in the shooting.
