Police looking for Louisville inmates who escaped in trash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- Two Louisville inmates escaped jail this weekend in trash cans.

The Department of Corrections says  Saturday night minimum security inmates Justin Stumler and Jeremy Hunt were working in the jail kitchen.

They hid in trash cans that were taken outside.

Someone saw the pair climbing out of the cans and told a corrections officer.

Both were originally arrested over the summer.

Stumler was facing charges for stealing a car, having a gun as a convicted felon, and drug possession.

Hunt was behind bars for several felony burglary charges.
