Police looking for suspect who hit woman, stole purse

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect connected to a robbery earlier this month.

The incident happened around 7:29 p.m. on Dec. 6 in the 1800 block of Augusta Drive. According to investigators, a witness reported seeing a man approach a woman from behind and hit her in the head. When the victim fell to the ground, the suspect grabbed her purse and another victim’s wallet before fleeing the area.

The suspect is described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and tan shoes.

Police say anyone with information that could help identify the suspect is encouraged to come forward. Tips can be made directly to Lexington police or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
