Police look for suspects in Lexington jewelry heist

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Police are looking for suspects after a jewelry heist in Lexington.

Investigators say three people went into Jared’s at the corner of West Reynolds and Nicholasville Roads just before 8:30 Friday night. Police say the suspects pulled out a sledgehammer, and smashed one of the jewelry cases. According to investigators, they took trays of large diamonds.

Officers say the suspects left in a maroon Dodge caravan. Police say the amount of diamonds stolen is significant.
