Police: London Traffic Stop Leads To $53,000 Seizure
Police never know what to expect when they pull over a driver.
But in one case in Laurel County, officers said a stop led them to $53,000.
London Police said they became suspicious last Friday when they pulled a man over for speeding.
Officers said the driver and his passenger gave conflicting statements.
A K-9 unit was called out.
Officers said the dog found a false panel in the vehicle, and the cash was later discovered inside.
The driver and passenger reportedly told officers they didn’t know anything about the money.
Police said officers impounded the vehicle and wrote the driver a speeding ticket.
